Ok, apparently I've gotten a few comments saying BatDanNight wasn't "celebrity" Material. Well I doubt people will disagree here. James Rolfe, creator of the Angry Video Game Nerd series. Now let me start out by saying that up until about 2010 or so, I was a fan of his work. But then the quality started to take a huge plunge.
His game glitches episode was when he really lost me, and it became clear he was grasping at straws. *does best Mike Mozart impression* I mean really; The glitch gremlin? That more like something out of a children's cartoon. He even tells us how yo clean the cartridges; yeah because people who still own old school consoles don't how to do it by now.
I'm going to cut this off short to talk about probably his worst review.
AVGN's R.O.B Review
On May 14, 2008; James did an AVGN review of accessories for the NES. At the end of the episode he teases about reviewing ROB saying he'll get to it "Later". Then on May 29, 2008 IG posts his own review of R.O.B, most of AVGN blind fanboys say that he ripped off James by doing it before him, Since James specifically mentioned doing a ROB review. Those same fanboys more then likely forgot about back during the AVGN vs Nostalgia Critic feud, James said "There's no official sign up sheet for reviewing".
Anyway on March 3, 2011, almost 3 years "later", he finally puts out the R.O.B review his fans and blind sheep have been waiting for. What did they get? Pretty much AVGN's petty revenge against the Irate Gamer......5 years late. Seriously watch IG's review & James' back to back. there's too many similarities, it's uncanny.
1. While playing; they both glance over at ROB and how ridiculously slow it is.
2. Both ROBs end up being evil.
3. Both ROBs attack the reviewer.
4. The both defeat ROB by using a reflective surface (IG a mirror, AVGN a U-Force)
5. They get made when ROB kills their character in Gyromite
6. While play Block, they both get pissed when ROB knocks over a tower of blocks.
Sure a few seem to be a bit nit picky, but so were the ones against IG in his Back to the Future & TMNT reviews.
Now although they are similar, both reviews do have their differences;
James' version is more of well........comedic, for lack of a better term(and I use that term loosely). While the IG version, is more bare bones and explaining about ROB. Which James failed to do, I might add. Plus in IG's review ROB didn't talk while in AVGN's he had voice that sounded like the Speak and Spell with a cold.
Now another thing; although it was in one of IG's later reviews; he makes a joke about being Robbed and holding up R.O.B. A Lot of people criticized this joke; but in AVGN R.O.B review; When ROB as for Gyros, James spends a whole minute making a burrito and giving it to ROB. How is that joke not worse? At Least in IG's joke you actually understood it. To me when somone says gyro I think of a spinning device. Apparently a Burrito is a gyro. Maybe down south(I live in New England) they call it that normally, but don't a joke that a whole quarter of your fanbase wont understand.
AVGN: The Movie
Now my biggest gripe about James' his movie. Now He has said he wanted to be a filmaker, and making a movie his AVGN character is ok I guess. But instead of financing the project himself(Which he could do) he instead begs his fans for money. Now some AVGN fans were smart enough to see through James ponzi scheme, but unfortunately most of his blind followers were not. Now a few of the major problems I have with it are;
1. When he asked for money he gave very few details about the financing. (Is he aiming for local movie theater release, National release, straight to DVD, what?) We need to know what he's aiming for, otherwise (like it is now) James can just do the cheapest option, and keep the thousands of dollars left over for himself.
2. The fact that James could didn't need to ask the fans for money in the first place. He makes enough money to finance it himself, if he wants to go the cheaper route. Plus it's not like he's a struggling reviewer. He's on of the most popular and well known video game reviewers on youtube. He didn't need the fans help then, why would he need it now.
Now to wrap it up here, I suspect James AVGN Movie to be a series finale of sorts, since it's becoming increasingly obvious that he is running out of ideas for it. And he is just scrambling to rake in the last bit of cash he can.
AVGN definitely deserves a top spot on the Internet hit list, for going from such a respected and entertaining reviewer, to a desperate money whore, scrambling to milk his bone dry series even dryer.

How do you know James could have funded this himself? Do you know his yearly income (I want an exact number, none of this archfiend bullshit where you assume he's hoarded or hell even received money from youtube, yet still kept a day job? hmmm...) because if you don't this isn't a valid argument. Also he did not BEG he ASKED, and there is a distinction. BEGGING can either imply he was outright on his knees asking for money, OR was asking for money for an item or items for purely selfish reasons like a new computer or camera for his own personal use. ASKING is what he did. He went on and told people that if they wanted to donate to a movie of a show that they liked/loved/wanted to see a movie made of, then they could.
1.) Yeah, thats what he did. That's why he moved to the area that is one of the most expensive areas to shoot we have seen constant updates on how this movie is progressing. I don't understand what info you want besides being shows receipt for receipt where the money is going when in reality this isn't feasible. (Also when has James ever given an indication he would just pocket the rest and take the cheapest route? Any confirmation or you just saying something that has no backup and hoping noone asks you to go into depth?)
2.) Read above about finances, have an established viewer base doesn't support your idea that he has this stash of money hidden away.
He's explained before that he has tons to work with, yes its the same formula but thats what fans want. He's still entertaining and more respected than ever for actually coming through on not only his dream but on a project all of his fans WANT him to do.
Do you even read what you type? Because honestly this is just funny. You cannot pick anything relating to an actual argument against James. Which there are, but you didn't bring up any of them. Instead you brought up this whole IG/R.O.B and movie money shit. I wouldn't be so nitpicky if the accusations against Bores weren't.
Contrary to how it seems I'm being as fair and just as I can be.
What we have with AVGN is a classic case of him being so popular that he gets a "Free Pass" so to speak, for all the wrongs he's done.
1.) I watched both, IG was thorough yet boring, AVGN had a little less info but nothing of importance was missing. AVGN had a more entertaining review and IG tried to compensate for his bad acting by giving more info that was partially wrong.
Delete2.) I have heard most of the argument against IG and I agree with most of them. You see the difference with the two reviewers is IG makes many,many,many intentional and factual mistakes. So because of this, his smaller mistakes hold more weight due to the consistencies of these mistakes. (an example of this would be if someone wrong an essay and misspelled "classified" as "clacifyed" is they use it 20 times and spelled it wrong once, you wouldn't hold it so highly. If they did it 19/20 time, then you would bring it to their attention.) Vice versa to this, AVGN's mistakes are so small in number that we look over those few because they aren't common. (Also I have yet to see a legitimate constant mistake he makes, and if you say his constant acting on the controls being bad, then you have to understand that it's supposed to be an intentional satire of the hinderance of the player. If you can get IG to say his reviews are a satire of non-gamers, shitty actors, and crappy video editing, then I would probably guess alot of his negative onlookers will disappear)

And why did your grand research overlook the Gyromite review of "Awesome Video Games"? It's not like this was made months before either Bores or James even mentioned ROB, or like this was basically the very first "ROB turns evil" review...
But at least James rip-off of Awesome Video Games (though I wouldn't call it rip-off, since James and AVG have a much better relationship with each other than anyone of them has with Bores) gave ROB a motivation. Bores' take on ROB is random, nonsensical and has since devolved into a magical plot device solver.
And about your rant on James' movie: What's with this whole "begging"-thing? Don't you Americans know what donations and fundings are? Even most Hollywood productions need them, and the video game industry has just discovered kickstarter.
And how do you know that James has enough money? Do you know how much he has saved? How much he earns? And how much a movie can actually cost, especially if he plans for a bigger release?
Suffice to say, once the movie is actually out, I don't mind the haters shredding it to pieces. But such early hate can get pretty embarassing (remember how everyone complained about Daniel Craig as the new Bond? )...

"Estimate" is just guessing when the only fashion you have to judge someone's earnings are others earnings in the same area. Now this works fine if there aren't any variables. In the case of YouTube/ cinemassacre/ and his own job. You can guess at what he makes, but in the end you have no idea his earnings nor even more importantly, his expenditures. Please don't make a claim against someone without some actual backup. Something you lack a lot of.

Micheal bay- a decent director in regards to special effects, however he uses them too often, and he can screw up a story royally if given the chance. This precedent gives people the mindset he will do this to TMNT.
James- someone who has produced great content (my opinion) frequently and listened to his fans numerous times in terms regarding the show. He has never shown anything in his past to make anyone think he will do the movie wrong, nor screw his fans over.
Please remember James only asked for a 75,000 dollar donation from fans as he thought even that was a stretch. Of course the placement and use of that 150+ is going to be skewed because well, it never had a place in the beginning.
How can you think these arguments work for you? They are uninformed, ill-researched ideas that you either take from another idiots video and subject it to your own ideals to make it seem original or new when in the end it never worked for the first person. First off, AVGN doing ROB after IG and IG doing TMNT and BTTF after AVGN are completely different situations. IG ripped those reviews off of AVGN. One can argue that "Well, there wasn't that much to talk about in those games, so they're gonna be similar," but he didn't have to do those games. AVGN didn't do ROB because of some convoluted personal vendetta against IG, he did it because it was one of the most requested reviews, in which case, yeah, some things are gonna be similar. He wanted to make a narrative rather than a simple review, so he made fun of the fact that ROB only works with two games by making ROB evil to make every game in existence Stack-Up and Gyromite. You sound like Archfag. You don't like that he accepted donations. Have you ever heard of Indiegogo, or Kickstarter? If you have, I guess you must think everyone who uses those services are also money-grubbing whores, huh? There is nothing wrong with asking for help. Movies are expensive, that is FACT. Yeah, there's stuff like Blair Witch, which cost 60K, but what was in that movie? A handheld camera and a couple actors, running around in the woods. James is in California, hiring cast, crew, renting equipment, and buying location spots. Plus insurance, and many other things you and I both don't know about, and his movie's gonna cost a pretty penny more than 60K. Nobody was forced into donating, he didn't threaten anything of anybody. He just asked. Whether you want to or not is irrelevant. If you don't want to donate, DON'T.

While AVGN's was the other way, develop the cause to a great degree and the effect will follow to an equal proportion. You see the reason for giving him a backstory (for only being in one episode as you put it) was to give it a point for going rogue, and a fun, entertaining way to get the information for R.O.B to the viewer without just sitting there spewing facts. (Like IG did)
